10.30 – 11.00: Opening and Setting the Scene

Objectives of the day, and overview of the principles for internet governance as defined in the WSIS outcome documents, and of the dialogue and debate on enhanced cooperation that has taken place since.

11.00 – 13.00: Taking Stock on government involvement in the Internet governance eco-system: Stakeholder perspectives on specific examples of perceived progress and failure since the WSIS

Inputs from stakeholder groups (governments, business, civil society, and the technical community) providing perspectives ranging from those who believe there has been no or little progress to those who believe there has been significant positive change.

Participants to sit at round tables and talk among one another in preparation for the next session: “What needs to be done”.

14.30 – 15:30 Critical reflection on what needs to be done

Interactive discussion to identify key gaps and areas where changes are needed most urgently and to generate ideas for how these could be addressed or solved, building on existing developments and opportunities where possible.
